Sara Sútra

Sara’s world has been one of curiosity and creativity. Growing up in a culturally rich and supportive home environment, she was inspired by her parents: her mother, a pianist, was the first Pedagogic Diretor of the Sintra Music Conservatory and her father, a Handball player, has been the Gymnastics Coordinator of Sport Lisboa e Benfica for over 36 years, and a renowned trainer for the European Handball Federation, (even invited to play the role of the handball trainer in acclaimed TV series “Morangos com Açúcar”). Additionally, one of the biggest influences in her life was the family matriarch – her grandmother, who was a natural leader with a spiritual path. She lived in Brazil for 30 years and Sara’s mother was born there, so this produced a unique vision of life and traditions in their home.

Sara’s artistic path was paved with diverse experiences such as ballet, piano, guitar, gymnastics, and dance. She even graced the stage with the iconic youth group Onda Choc, earning multiple platinum albums. Her talents extended to theater, poetry, and film, culminating in a secondary role in a movie by the awarded director Marco Martins.

Graduating from Lisbon Fine Arts University as a Communication Designer, Sara’s life took a professional turn when she discovered Yôga. This pursuit blended her intellectual, philosophical, artistic, and physical passions, leading her to graduate in the DeRose Method and, after living and teaching for a while in Paris, open her own Yôga school in Cascais, specialized in Yôga Retreats and exploring mantra, meditation and movement. After getting married, Sara re-discovered the love for singing professionally next to her husband, Armando Teixeira, and now she dedicates a lot of her work to that artistic path.
