Mallika Paritosh

Mallika Paritosh, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and with Portuguese, Lebanese, and Native South American roots, currently lives in Lisbon. She is a best-selling author and a Philosophy scholar from the University of Buenos Aires, specializing in ancient Tantric philosophy (Kashmir Shaivism). Additionally, she is a classical pianist and music educator from the National Conservatory of Buenos Aires, as well as one of the founders and directors of the Matrika Sonic Arts Academy, which has headquarters in Lisbon and Hawaii.

Mallika is also a composer of meditative music, a sound therapist, and a facilitator of Meditation, Classical, and Neo-Tantra practices. In recent years, she has focused her research on the use of sound, dance, and trance within the context of matrifocal cultures of the Paleolithic, which are the roots of a long chain of wisdom that finds one of its expressions in the Indian Tantric lineages.

As a musician and dancer, she has performed traditional music and dances at a wide variety of festivals for 30 years and now plays more than 45 instruments. She creates soundscapes and workshops around the world where ancient Tantra, shamanism, poetry, sacred music, and visual arts merge and engage in dialogue.
